As is apparent in the third photograph. Of course, this patch was cleared for farming purposes. A dream which was not successful. But it does look very pretty. There is a large ruined 2 storey stone farmhouse behind where I took that shot. It would make a wonderful film set.
<
Glad Hurricane Ike by-passed Florida.
<
Thanks for the other comment too.
Cheers
DenisDenis Wilsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10031115992910569116noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19288377.post-42631453518725187342008-09-15T10:02:00.000+10:002008-09-15T10:02:00.000+10:00I like the Wollongong horizon shot!I like the Wollongong horizon shot!Joehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12345154460382394758noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19288377.post-40784366736561297672008-09-11T18:27:00.000+10:002008-09-11T18:27:00.000+10:00I'm with Mosura Denis. Looks as if curta is not going to flower in at least one of its spots down here, drew a blank with grandiflora also, due to the dry I suppose.Duncanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12182951711946882353noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19288377.post-62574251899425509782008-09-11T00:13:00.000+10:002008-09-11T00:13:00.000+10:00Gosh, Alan, that was quick.I only just published i...Gosh, Alan, that was quick.
I only just published it.
Thanks.
The one marked possible hybrid is interesting. I have never seen such a plant before, but Pt. pedunculata is recorded as hybridising - usually with Pt curta.
Cheers
DenisDenis Wilsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10031115992910569116noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19288377.post-23906798225828371372008-09-11T00:07:00.000+10:002008-09-11T00:07:00.000+10:00Nicely illustrated orchids - as always!Nicely illustrated orchids - as always!Mosurahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14786494432479216149noreply@blogger.com
