"Yin and Yang" in the world of Cats

My friend George has two cats (indoor cats I am pleased to say). They are wonderfully placid creatures, and they love nothing more than curling up together. Their names are Clyde and Sung.

This morning they were in their "Yin and Yang" position.
In fact they regularly changed positions, but this one "pose" particularly appealed to me, because of its resemblance to the traditional Chinese symbol "taijitu".

"The taijitu represents an ancient Chinese understanding of how things work. The outer circle represents the entirety of perceivable phenomena, while the black and white shapes within the circle represent the interaction of two principles or aspects, called "yin" (black) and "yang" (white), which cause the phenomena to appear in their peculiar way. Each of them contains an element or seed of the other, and they cannot exist without each other." (Wikipedia)

These cats are different in colour, and in temperament. Clyde is outgoing and welcoming. Sung is reticent, and I would say, aloof. But George assures me that Sung has a loving nature. So, in all ways, these cats complement each other. Yin and Yang.

Thanks Anni. I enjoyed writing it. The cats were very co-operative earlier in the day, at George's place.
And yes, I am starting to feel better. Thanks for asking.
