Peonies and Clematis open today

Today, Red Charm, the most spectacular Herbaceous Peony I grow has opened for the first time this year. Here it is seen growing in the paddock.

This is the same flower, seen as a cut flower, sitting on a window ledge - looking through the plant to the brighter light outside. It is quite extraordinary.

This lovely Blue Clematis has just opened. This plant is growing in a wild section of my garden, underneath a lovely creamy rose.

Here are two images of Coral Charm. In the Australian light this plant is so bright it is very hard to portray properly in images.

It is just beautiful. Love that red. I keep forgetting Australia's seasons are opposite of ours. How neat to enjoy the seasons down there from here.

Very nice. I like the Blue Clematis. I noticed a similar looking one while I was out and about today.

I love peonies, and how nice to see your beautiful ones blooming, when ours are just a memory. Your Red Charm is so packed with petals. How is its scent?

Hi Mosura
The choice to include the Clematis was easy, as it contrasted so nicely with the Peonies, and happens to flower at the same time.
Welcome to this blog, Northern Shade.
I posted an article the day before with photos from my friend in Nova Scotia, but your part of Canada is much more dramatic (and cold).
You had stunning photos of the Athabasca Falls and the mountains beyond. Amazing.
Cheers
