Cherry Blossoms starting - in Robertson

The famous Cherry Trees along the main street of Robertson are starting to flower.
As mentioned in comments on a previous posting, in response to a query received two weeks ago, the Cherry Trees are flowering early this year. Normally they are at their peak on the long weekend at the beginning of October.
This year they are flowering early. You might blame Global Warming - everyone else seems to blame things they do not like on Global Warming.

I prefer to regard is as part of the normal range of seasonal variations.
Anyway, the point of this posting is to forewarn the Japanese community of Sydney and the Illawarra (who I know do monitor this Blog) that if they wish to see the beautiful Cherry Trees of Robertson in their full glory, they ought visit Robertson over the next 10 days.

Should I say "Arrigato Micki-san"?

When the full avenue of trees is in flower it is quite spectacular.
A few days time, if the weather is kind to us.

G'day Denis,
The main street must look a picture at present. Pretty transitory though?
I like the new heading picture of the crim!

Thanks Gouldiae
Not a picture just yet - but it will be.
The tourists will be disappointed on the Long Weekend in early October, as the Cherries are the local "feature" and they will probably be finished by then.
Interesting that you commented on the transitory nature of this beauty.
That is what the Japanese like about the Cherries - here today and perfect, then gone!
By the way, glad you like the new Header photo of the Crimson Rosella. I got her in Canberra last week. A pair flew into a tree - beside where I happened to be standing. She stopped at the nest entrance and looked at me, and decided she would go in anyway. I suspect she needed to lay an egg, as there was no squeaking noises of feeding. Anyway, I had to wait 6 minutes to get the shot, but it was worth it.
Glad you like it.
Cheers
Denis
