More Wind Damage in Robertson

Anni's Split Gum Tree
Regular readers will have notice Anni's comment, several days ago that a gum tree in her back yard was split in half by the winds we experienced last week.

Here is the evidence, folks.

The branch has now been severed from the trunk (it was still held by splintered wood, and a strip of bark, but that's about all. A few minute work with a bow saw solved that immediate problem.



One of my favourite quotes from my father, in regard to trees is a simple linguistic joke: "Firstly you cut them down and then you have to cut them up."

In reality, it takes much longer to cut them "up" than to cut them "down".
