This is the Illawarra's contribution to the National Day of Action against Coal Seam Gas extraction.
It coincides with Blog Action Day, October 16. Their theme is "food". As far as I am concerned, Food and Water are mutually supportive. We cannot grow food, indeed we cannot survive without good, pure water.
Walk For Water: Sea Cliff Bridge, October 16
- In May, 3,000 of us joined together on Austinmer beach and helped to introduce a temporary moratorium.
- In September, we submitted our case to the NSW Government Upper House inquiry into CSG.
- Now we must stand together again and make it clear to the government what they must do.
We'll meet at 11.30am Leeder Park, Coalcliff. The walk is approx 2km, arriving Rube Hargrave Park, Clifton at approx 12:30pm. Bring a picnic and enjoy the beautiful surroundings and great company after! Please! ... train, ride your bike or walk if possible, as parking is very limited. We’ll be walking rain or shine, so bring appropriate clothing and protection!
